OUR ROLE A Dorian, Autograph Collection & Courtyard by Marriott Doorperson acts as Oscar Wilde’s primary ambassador to our Dorian Experience, providing a genuine, professional welcome while managing the two hotel entrances, coordinating Valet parking and assisting our guests with luggage, whilst offering guest information on our hotel and the City of Calgary.  They ensure a friendly, secure, clean, and welcoming arrival/departure experience, often coordinating with the Front Office to meet high-end service standards and anticipate guest needs. Key accountabilities include: Always provide the highest quality of service to our guests and associates alike. Greet all guests and visitors with a genuine and friendly demeanor, opening doors and providing a welcoming and lasting impression of the hotel. Engage proactively with guests passing through the entrance, offering assistance beyond arrivals and departures. Assist guests entering/exiting vehicles, ensuring safety and comfort at all times. Coordinate with Valet and Front Desk to ensure seamless guest flow. Coordinate and process all incoming/outgoing guest vehicles through the hotels selected Valet Management System ensuring guaranteed delivery times are followed. Coordinate taxis and/or Uber transportation for guests as requested. Direct traffic in the front curbside area as needed and assist guests in entering/exiting their vehicles. Assist with luggage handling, including unloading/loading, tagging, and coordinating delivery or storage with the Valet team. Monitor the entrance area to ensure cleanliness, organization, and a consistent professional appearance of the building, as well as the Valet Attendants. Recognize and notify the Front Desk and Social Ambassador of VIP arrivals whenever possible. Ensure the entrance is covered at all times, never leaving the curbside unattended. Follow all safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions. YOUR STORY An experienced customer service professional with a minimum of one year of experience in a similar role in a similar hotel property. A Hospitality or Tourism program graduate or degree holder. Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and a friendly, approachable demeanor, with a strong commitment to safety. Someone who knows how to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Someone who places priority on providing guests with the best possible experiences, going above and beyond to ensure total satisfaction and guest loyalty. An exceptional problem-solver, knowing how to troubleshoot and resolve situations efficiently. Able to work well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced environment. An excellent communicator who values teamwork and collaboration with command of the English language, both verbal and written. Able to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. Physically able to stand and walk for long periods of time, and lift and carry luggage and other items up to 75 pounds without assistance.
