The DOT Compliance Administrator plays a key role in supporting nationwide Middle Mile (MM) operations by ensuring every driver, vehicle, and process meets the highest Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards. As part of the North American Surface Transportation (NAST) Safety & Compliance (S&C) team, this role partners closely with program managers and Business Intelligence (BI) to manage data integrity, automate reporting processes, and build scalable compliance tools that enable audit readiness and operational excellence. Key job responsibilities Provide comprehensive administrative and program support for DOT compliance initiatives, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across reporting, recordkeeping, and audit documentation. Own and manage high-volume data workflows, including data validation, discrepancy resolution, and report delivery, with a strong focus on accuracy and stakeholder responsiveness. Partner tech teams to develop, maintain, and optimize compliance reporting processes. Support the automation of data feeds, ensure data integrity, and organize compliance metrics by site, region, or fleet type. Collaborate to design dashboards that provide real-time visibility into KPIs and performance trends. Track and analyze key compliance KPIs (e.g., Roadside Inspections, Hours of Service adherence) to measure performance and identify process improvement opportunities. Manage and safeguard sensitive compliance records, including driver qualification, medical certification, and training/observation documentation, ensuring secure and compliant storage in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Maintain working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, applying this expertise to daily compliance monitoring and data integrity checks. Support field teams and compliance managers in preparation for audits, policy reviews, and training initiatives, ensuring documentation readiness and alignment with regulatory standards. Ability to travel to assigned sites as needed to support compliance audits and process reviews. A day in the life The DOT Compliance Administrator supports daily Middle Mile operations by ensuring compliance data and documentation meet FMCSA standards. They partner with Compliance Program Managers, Field Operations, and fleet teams to validate driver and vehicle records, resolve discrepancies, and automate reporting. Each day includes monitoring dashboards, reviewing audit files, and communicating compliance status to leadership. This role is fast-paced, detail-driven, and essential to maintaining Amazon’s commitment to safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance across the transportation network. Basic Qualifications: - 2+ years of professional or military experience - 2+ years of working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications experience - High school or equivalent - 1+ years of data analysis and formula creation in Microsoft Excel experience - Experience analyzing data metrics Preferred Qualifications: - 2+ years of experience in DOT or FMCSA compliance, transportation safety, or regulatory administration. The base pay for this position ranges from $43,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $79,800/year in our highest geographic market.
