This is a fully remote position:
RIDEWAY Express is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced DOT compliance assistant to support compliance with DOT, FMCSA and company policies. This role involves managing Hours of Service (HOS), driver compliance, safety training, and incident reporting to maintain our high safety standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong organizational skills, and contribute to our mission of fostering a safe and efficient workplace. Dispatch experience is preferred, as it supports understanding and managing driver operations effectively.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance standards.
  • Previous experience in compliance management in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Dispatch experience (preferred) to enhance understanding of driver operations.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to monitor drivers’ logs, truck maintenance and repairs.
  • Reliable computer, cellphone and internet.
  • Access to a quiet workspace conducive to making phone calls and maintaining a professional environment.
  • Bilingual : Fluent Spanish and English
Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to DOT regulations and all relevant federal, state, and local laws.
  • Driver Qualification and Safety: Maintain driver qualification files and oversee compliance with safety standards.
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection: Monitor and track vehicle maintenance schedules and inspection compliance.
  • Hours of Service (HOS) Compliance: Audit and manage driver logs to ensure compliance with HOS requirements.
  • Safety Management: Implement and oversee safety protocols to minimize risks and maintain company safety scores.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records for compliance, safety, and operational reporting.
  • Audits and Reporting: Conduct internal audits and prepare detailed compliance activity reports.
  • Phone Calls: Answer and handle phone calls professionally, addressing compliance inquiries and resolving operational issues as needed.
