Position Overview
We are seeking DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation Compliance Specialists with expertise in hazardous materials classification, shipping, and regulatory compliance. This is not a traditional employment role but an opportunity to join our consultant pool. When client projects arise that match your skills, we will reach out directly with opportunities for paid consulting work.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR Parts 171–180) for shipping, storage, and transport
  • Classify and prepare hazardous materials for domestic and international shipment (ground, air, ocean)
  • Develop and review shipping documentation (hazmat shipping papers, labels, placards)
  • Provide training on DOT HazMat requirements for employees handling regulated materials
  • Support clients during DOT audits, inspections, and enforcement actions
  • Collaborate with EPA FIFRA and OSHA HazCom teams to align labeling and packaging requirements
