QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Experience: Proven experience operating bulldozers or other heavy construction machinery.
  • Certifications: Valid heavy equipment operator’s license or certification, if required by local regulations.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of bulldozer functions and controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction site plans and blueprints.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with workplace safety standards and practices for heavy machinery operations.

Responsibilities
  • Operate Bulldozer:
  • Safely operate bulldozers to move, grade, level, or clear earth and other materials.
  • Perform earth-moving tasks for construction, demolition, mining, or other related activities.
  • Site Preparation:
  • Clear and level land for construction, roadwork, and other projects.
  • Cut and grade terrain to specific slopes, elevations, and alignments.
  • Maintenance and Inspection:
  • Perform routine maintenance on the bulldozer, including checking fluid levels, lubricating parts, and inspecting mechanical functions.
  • Report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team for repairs.
  • Material Handling:
  • Load and unload materials such as dirt, rocks, and debris, ensuring efficient handling and transport.
  • Use the bulldozer blade to push or pile materials in designated areas.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating heavy machinery.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, safety vests, and gloves.
  • Maintain awareness of surrounding workers and equipment to avoid accidents.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with construction teams, foremen, and other heavy equipment operators to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Communicate with supervisors to ensure job site activities are completed on time and to specifications.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Keep records of work completed, equipment maintenance, and materials used.
  • Report on job progress, safety issues, and any operational concerns to supervisors.
