JOB SUMMARY

Assist research faculty in the creation of technical data packages for sponsored research. This position will create configuration controlled 2D drawings (mechanical and electrical) using source material provided by research faculty. Other duties will include maintaining organization of CAD libraries (2D blocks/notes, 3D reference parts) and generating 3D models of components for use in design applications. This position will interact on a regular basis with: research faculty and support staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: research faculty, professional and support staff. ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred - CAD Technician, CAD Operator, Drafter’s Assistant, CSWA

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with SolidWorks Mechanical and SolidWorks Electrical.

KNOWLEDGE

• Requires experience in both 2D and 3D CAD tools (Examples are SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCad, Draftsight, SolidEdge, Pro-E, Catia).
• Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio)
• Require understanding of mechanical and manufacturing concepts, as well as a technical understanding of how components are assembled
• Familiarity with product and data management tools such as EPDM, Windchill, TeamCenter, SAP preferred, as well as a familiarity and understanding of ASME Y14 standards
