Description Department: Engineering Summary: Demco is seeking a Drafter for our semi-trailer manufacturing facility. This position will assist Design Engineers with updates to drawings, modifications, and engineering change requests, while also contributing to small design projects and concept development. This role reports to the Spencer Engineering Manager and offers a competitive compensation & benefits package based on your skills and expertise. The position is based in our Spencer, IA facility. Schedule: Monday - Thursday: 7am/4:30pm Friday: 7am/12pm Primary Duties: Create detailed technical drawings using CAD software. Process engineering change requests as assigned by the Engineering Manager. Collaborate with Design Engineers to develop detailed product manuals. Lead small design projects including concept development, 3D modeling, and coordination with engineering teams. Ensure compliance with Demco standards and ISO 9001. Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, and vendors to incorporate design specs. Conduct field visits to gather measurements, verify design implementation, or support production troubleshooting. Requirements Qualifications/Experience: Preferred: Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience. Proficiency in SolidWorks (2020 or newer preferred). Basic understanding of engineering principles. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in drafting software and general office applications. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Detail-oriented, safety-minded, self-motivated.
