Description Position Summary The Drafting Supervisor oversees a team of drafters responsible for generating accurate technical CAD models, drawings and plans that support the TMMS business unit. This role ensures drafting output meets production targets, quality standards, and schedule requirements while maintaining effective workflow coordination between Engineering, Drafting, and Production. The Drafting Supervisor is a hands-on leader who also contributes directly to drafting as needed. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Workflow Management Supervise drafting team members, including assigning tasks, reviewing work, and ensuring adherence to quality and production targets. Monitor workflow across other team members including Sales, Engineering, Drafting, and Production to ensure timely and accurate information flow. Identify and implement corrective actions to maintain or improve workflow efficiency between departments. Assist with schedule development and monitor execution to meet project plans. Ensure technical drawings meet required specifications, standards, and compliance requirements. Performance & Training Monitor individual and team performance; provide clear, constructive feedback. Deliver training for new employees and ongoing development for existing team members. Conduct annual performance evaluations for drafting personnel. Approve employee timecards and manage time-off requests. Perform drafting work as required to meet operational needs. Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline; 10 years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Technical Skills Strong background in 3D solid modeling using Rhino, AutoCAD or comparable CAD platforms. Rhino and marine experience strongly preferred CAD/design experience within a marine environment required. Leadership & Professional Skills Hands-on leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners. Demonstrated ability and desire to act as a Change Agent, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
