DESCRIPTION

Peak Nano is seeking a Drafting & CAD Technician whose key responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:

• 3D Modeling and Design
• Use SolidWorks to model tools, assembly stands, and other components specific to our systems
• Create 3D models for parts and assemblies that require design reviews or pre-purchase evaluation
• Design and prepare models for 3D printing, ensuring accuracy and functionality for prototypes or final use
• Assembly Visualization and Testing
• Develop detailed models to represent how systems, tools, and components fit and work together
• Collaborate with engineers and team members to simulate and review assemblies, ensuring design feasibility and functionality
• Design Review Support
• Provide clear and accurate models for design reviews, enabling the team to make informed decisions before material procurement or manufacturing begins
• Revise designs based on feedback to improve system efficiency and performance
• Documentation and Standards
• Maintain technical drawings and models that align with company and industry standards
• Organize and manage files in the company’s design database, ensuring easy access and version control utilizing the SolidWorks PDM Vault

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s degree or certificate in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or similar, or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of drafting experience with a focus on SolidWorks and 3D modeling of complex systems
• Knowledge of 3D printing workflows and design principles
• Familiarity with design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) principles
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and tolerances
• US Citizenship

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or prototyping environment
• Certifications such as Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) or Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA)
