WILLCON CIVIL are seeking Drainer/ Pipelayer for work on various projects in Melbourne Metro Region.
Your roles and responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
· Reading and understanding plans, drawings and specifications
· Installing and repairing below groundwater drainage systems including sanitary and stormwater sewer structures and pipe systems
· Prepare trenching beds as specified, to suit pipe being laid as per Water Corporation manual
· Laying out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints, and coordinating layouts with supervisors, including:
· Cutting pipes to required lengths
· Aligning and positioning pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing
· Checking slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
· Connecting pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue
· Testing installed drainage systems
· Covering pipes with earth or other materials
· Supervising and teaching Civil Drainer Trainees
Minimum requirements -
· Minimum 2-3 years’ experience required in lieu of relevant qualifications
· Willingness to operate over multiple metro and regional site locations
