Description
We are looking for a Drama Teacher for an International school located in Guangzhou. This position is available from with an immediate start or from the upcoming academic 2026-2027 year in August 2026. Job Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality Drama/Theatre learning across the whole school (PYP, MYP, and where applicable DP Theatre), aligned with IB frameworks, ATL skills, and the Learner Profile. Differentiate for a wide range of ages and abilities, including EAL/SEN, building skills in voice, movement, improvisation, text, devising, and performance literacy. Design coherent units with clear conceptual understandings, authentic contexts, and formative/summative assessments aligned to programme criteria. Lead or co-direct school productions, showcases, and assemblies; manage auditions, rehearsal schedules, risk assessments, and show logistics in collaboration with colleagues. Curate student portfolios, rehearsal journals, and performance evidence; provide timely feedback and report on progress to students and parents. Collaborate with homeroom/subject teachers and coordinators (PYP/MYP/DP) for vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment and transdisciplinary links. Maintain and organize drama spaces, equipment, and technical resources; model safe, responsible use of facilities. Contribute to co-curricular activities (drama clubs, competition teams, festivals) and whole-school arts initiatives; engage with the wider community and external partners where appropriate. Participate in professional learning, moderation/standardization, and school events; uphold safeguarding and student wellbeing policies. Bachelor’s degree in Drama/Theatre, Performing Arts, or related field; teaching qualification preferred Two or more years of drama/theatre teaching experience; experience across primary and secondary is an advantage IB experience preferred Monthly salary of 25,000 to 30,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications Relocation allowance of 2,000 RMB Annual flight allowance of up to 10,000 RMB Work Visa provided Summer and winter holidays National holidays Medical insurance Lunch and shuttle bus provided by the school Laptop provided by the school
