Description Corona Millworks is seeking an experienced Drawer Box Lead to oversee the daily operations of our Drawer Box Department in Tolleson, Arizona. This is a hands-on leadership position and is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Drawer Box Department by leading production, training team members, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring production goals are achieved safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in drawer box manufacturing, woodworking, or cabinet manufacturing and possess a strong understanding of woodworking equipment, production processes, and team leadership. This is not an entry-level position. Successful candidates will be expected to bring technical expertise, leadership experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement from day one. Requirements Key Responsibilities Serve as a hands-on working lead by actively participating in the daily manufacturing of drawer boxes alongside the production team. Lead by example by demonstrating safe work practices, quality workmanship, and a positive attitude. Assist with coordinating daily workflow and production priorities as directed by Production Management. Train and support team members on equipment operation, manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safe work practices. Serve as the department's technical resource by answering questions and assisting team members with production challenges. Operate, set up, troubleshoot, and perform adjustments as needed on departmental equipment, including a beam saw and a foiler, dovetail/ dowel machine, laser engraver. notch and drill, table/ chop saw, material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, as well as any other department-specific woodworking equipment as required. Manufacture high-quality dovetail and dowel drawer boxes, including standard drawer boxes, spice rack drawer boxes, cutlery/ Vanity inserts, drawer organizers, custom and adjustable inserts, and all other specialty drawer box configurations. Read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, production paperwork, and specifications to ensure products are manufactured accurately. Inspect products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure they meet company quality standards and customer specifications. Identify quality concerns, equipment issues, material shortages, or production delays and communicate them to Production Management. Assist in minimizing scrap, rework, downtime, and material waste through proper production practices. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, safety, and product quality. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Ensure company safety policies, PPE requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are consistently followed within the department. Collaborate with Production Management, Scheduling, Quality, and Maintenance to support production goals and customer delivery expectations. Cross-train team members within the department to promote operational flexibility and support production needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in cabinet manufacturing, woodworking, millwork, or drawer box production. Minimum 1 year of experience in a Lead or other production leadership role. Demonstrated hands-on experience manufacturing both dovetail and dowel drawer boxes. Extensive experience operating, setting up, and troubleshooting woodworking machinery. Experience manufacturing standard drawer boxes, spice rack drawer boxes, cutlery inserts, drawer organizers, custom drawer inserts, and specialty drawer box configurations. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, production paperwork, and product specifications. Strong understanding of woodworking manufacturing processes, production workflow, quality control, and safe operating procedures. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality products. Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment. Ability to effectively prioritize work and adapt to changing production demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to train and support team members on manufacturing processes, equipment operation, quality standards, and safe work practices. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and troubleshoot production and equipment issues. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Physical Requirements Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance. Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach, push, and pull. Safely operate woodworking machinery, hand tools, and material handling equipment. Perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and arms. Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, dust, and noise levels. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. Schedule Day shift with 8–10-hour shifts. Must be available for occasional Saturday shifts (overtime) based on production demands.
