Description

JOIN ONE OF CANADA’S BEST MANAGED COMPANIES!

Dredging & Dewatering - Equipment Operator
Leduc, AB/Western Canada
Reports to: Operations Manager
Department: Projects
At KBL, we do things differently. As Western Canada’s largest environmental waste management company—born in the North and built on resilience—we’ve grown by trusting our people, keeping them safe and backing bold ideas. We’re proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies!
We’re looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to support our growing team, asap, until the end of October. Great employees may have the opportunity for permanent employment with this team, or as part of the fast growing, larger KBL team. The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for day-to-day duties on site needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion and maintain a clean work site. This may include the moving and tracking of materials with various equipment including forklifts, loaders, scoop trams, rock trucks, excavators and hook truck. The Heavy Equipment Operator is also responsible to run the screening plant and is expected to take part in general housekeeping with some manual labour.

Responsibilities
  • Safe and effective operation of heavy equipment, including forklifts, loaders, scoop trams, rock trucks, excavators, and hook trucks. Keep slip tanks always topped off and conduct thorough pre-operational checks on all equipment.
  • Loading a diverse range of materials such as earth, rock, and demolition debris into heavy trucks or train cars.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and daily operation checks on equipment, maintain cleanliness and order on site—clean, lubricate, and fuel all equipment, and handle general site housekeeping.
  • Safely move materials from excavation sites to designated stockpiles, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform general labour tasks as required, including but not limited to digging, sweeping, monitoring, sampling, and spotting for trucks.
