Description
Working Pattern: Typically 5 days in the office, with core hours flexible between 8am-6pm. The Role Join our Global In-House Supplier as a Designer for Girlswear Dresses, where creativity meets manufacturing excellence. In this role, you will bridge the gap between global street-style trends and commercial success. Working closely with Senior Design leadership and our overseas partners, you will be responsible for evolving our dress category, ensuring every piece maintains our standards for both "of-the-moment" style and exceptional quality. Next Sourcing We’re so much more than just a British retailer. From Istanbul to Shanghai, our Sourcing teams live and work in some of the most iconic cities in the world. They're at the heart of finding, developing and delivering the products our customers love, wear and use every day. Located across the globe, our Next Sourcing teams specialise in all different parts of the sourcing operation, from design and technology to product development. If you’ve always wanted to live and work abroad, this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for.  What You’ll Take On As our Girlswear Dress Designer, you are the engine that drives our collection from concept to closet. Your day-to-day will involve: * Owning the Full Range: Leading the design process for our entire dress category, with a specialised focus on creating everything from "cool" trend led staples to high quality occasion wear. * Translating Street Style into Sales: Constantly scouring global street-style and runway trends to create elevated, wearable dresses that resonate with our young customers. * Designing at Pace: Thriving in a fast-turnaround environment by responding quickly to creative briefs and producing high-impact designs that keep our collections fresh. * Balancing Aesthetic with Value: Working strategically within price-point guidelines to ensure we deliver "must-have" styles without ever compromising on quality or craftsmanship. * Global Collaboration: Partnering daily with Buyers, Sourcing teams, and our international manufacturing partners to ensure every silhouette is delivered on time and to exact specifications. * Curating Variety: Driving the creative direction for both high-energy "capsule" collections and the essential core lines that define the brand’s wardrob   What You’ll Bring * Dresses Design Expertise: You have a solid background in Childrenswear Dress design, ideally gained within a similar-sized retailer or supplier. You understand the nuances of woven and jersey silhouettes, from playful day dresses to premium occasion wear. * Technical Artistry: You are a pro at using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, allowing you to bring intricate prints, patterns, and creative visions to life with digital precision. * A Trend-First Mindset: You are genuinely obsessed with fashion. You have your finger on the pulse of global street-style and social media trends, and you know exactly how to translate them for the younger market. * Collaborative Spirit: You’re a natural communicator who thrives in a team. Experience working directly with global factories and sourcing teams to refine samples and production is a huge plus. * Commercial Sharpness: You understand that great design lives at the intersection of beauty and business. You can navigate price points, fabric yields, and production specs without losing your creative edge. * Agility & Organisation: You stay grounded and organised even when things get busy. You’re comfortable handling fast-turnaround "express" briefs with a positive, "can-do" attitude. A Quick Note: We can’t wait to see your style! Please ensure you attach your digital portfolio to your application, as we won’t be able to consider your journey with us without it.
