Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

With an exciting brownfields hard-rock mining project on the horizon, we’re seeking experienced Drill & Blast Supervisors. Located nearby Southern Cross, these roles are offered on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth or DIDO roster from surrounding towns.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Effective utilisation of personnel and equipment to meet production plans and targets.
  • Communicate drill and blast requirements at pre-start meetings.
  • Coordinate work-crew responsibilities ensuring employees are aware of changes and are competent to carry out tasks.
  • Ensure all employees understand and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental working procedures.
  • Provide technical advice/ expertise on Drill and Blast operations and deliver training and guidance to personnel as required.
  • Carry out blast notifications and clearances.
  • Monitor shift performance to ensure drill and blast targets are met and take appropriate action to maintain targets.
  • Report any significant deviation from the drilling and blasting plans to the Project Manager in writing on the shift report.
  • Ensure the transport of blasting materials is in accordance with statutory regulations in a purpose designed vehicle.
  • Carry out accident/incident investigations as required.
  • Liaise with the Workshop Manager to plan scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Undertake scheduled audits and inspections of magazine and facility.
  • Build effective and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders
