We pride ourselves on our commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Drill Locator to join our directional drilling team. Position Overview The Drill Locator works closely with the Directional Driller to ensure the accurate and safe installation of underground conduit and fiber optic systems. This role requires technical precision, communication, and an understanding of underground utility environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) operations or be eager to learn through on-the-job training. Key Responsibilities Operate utility locating equipment to guide drill heads along planned bore paths. Communicate continuously with the Directional Driller to maintain accuracy and safety. Read and interpret utility maps, blueprints, and bore plans to identify underground utilities and establish drill paths. Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of drilling equipment. Record bore logs and ensure accurate documentation of bore paths and depths. Identify and mark existing utilities to prevent strikes or damage. Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist with equipment inspections. Adhere to all EnterSource safety policies and procedures. Travel to various job sites, sometimes requiring overnight stays. Qualifications Experience in directional drilling or underground utility work preferred, but willing to train the right candidate. Basic knowledge of utility locating equipment (Subsite, DigiTrak, or similar). Ability to read and understand construction drawings, maps, and safety standards. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Good physical condition; able to work outdoors in various environments. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. Willingness to travel for extended periods as project needs require. Preferred Qualifications CDL Class A or ability to obtain. Experience with fiber optic or telecommunications construction. Familiarity with HDD drilling fluids, entry/exit pits, and conduit installation. OSHA 10/30 or other relevant safety certifications.
