Position:
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is hiring a Drinking Water Compliance Supervisor – Analyst 4 for the Idaho Falls Regional Office.
Salary Range: $37.00 - $40.00

Responsibilities
  • Provide regulatory oversight to public drinking water systems in the Idaho Falls region:
  • Review monitoring results to determine compliance with Idaho drinking water rules.
  • Perform sanitary survey inspections and analyze the findings.
  • Maintain the Safe Drinking Water Information System.
  • Handle drinking water contamination issues.
  • Provide public assistance to drinking water systems, operators, and the general public.
  • Interpret drinking water rules and regulations.
  • Manage enforcement cases.
  • Perform supervisory functions for the drinking water program in the Idaho Falls Regional Office:
  • Interview and select candidates for vacant positions.
  • Document performance and complete performance evaluations.
  • Assign job duties and tasks.
  • Address issues of unsatisfactory performance.
  • Assist with rule interpretation.
  • Train and mentor drinking water staff.
  • Approve timesheets and vacations.
  • Develop new rules, guidance, and procedures with the state drinking water program.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in the physical or biological sciences, Political Science, Business or Public Administration, Engineering, or related natural resources management field OR Education and/or experience equivalent to a typical four (4) year Bachelor’s degree. For example: Successful completion of sixty (60) semester hours of study, including twenty-four (24) semester hours in a subject required for the specific discipline, is equivalent to two (2) years of undergraduate education; and/or experience performing routine duties such as planning, research, regulatory development and/or implementation of components of environmental programs or media for at least two (2) years can substitute for one (1) year of college.
