Description Overall Objective The Driver is responsible for coordinating the provision of courteous and efficient transportation services for residents at Academy Mapleton Hill (AMH), while also managing the upkeep and servicing of the entire fleet of Academy Boulder vehicles at all three community locations. Benefits Note: Some benefits require full-time work status 401(k) Matching (up to 5% with immediate full vesting) Holiday Pay Paid Personal Leave Employee Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Life Insurance Short and Long-Term Disability Insurance Discounted Meals Position Responsibilities The specific duties and extent of responsibility of this position include the following: Serve in the daily rotation of community drivers providing safe, courteous door-through-door transport to medical appointments, personal appointments and community activities Assist with carrying items, opening doors, and ensuring safe boarding/disembarking and accommodating mobility aids (wheelchairs, walkers) Communicate professionally with residents, families, facility, staff, handle emergencies calmly Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility equipment Contact back-up drivers, as needed, to ensure a driver is available for all trips scheduled Provide AMH delivery services for special needs of residents, such as picking up medical prescriptions at local pharmacies Drive community owned multi-passenger vehicles on community excursions of residents Support the transportation needs of all Academy Boulder communities, when requested Perform safety checks on the community van each time before operation Communicate resident condition changes to Academy Health Services Follow AMH Driver Safety Policy and Procedures Required Qualifications Valid driver’s license Clean driving record and ability to pass background check and drug screening Strong interpersonal and communication skills Experience assisting seniors or individuals with mobility challenges Fluent in English High School diploma or equivalent Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work flexible hours and occasional holidays, as required
