Description Job Summary: The Activities Assistant / Driver provides transportation services for residents using the facility vehicle and supports the Activities Department in delivering engaging programs and services. When not actively transporting residents, the employee assists with activities programming, event setup, resident engagement, and general department support. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Provides safe, timely transportation for residents to and from appointments, outings, and facility events. Maintains transportation schedule and coordinates with Activities Director to prioritize needs. Ensures safe entry and exit of residents from vehicles, offering verbal guidance and minimal transfer assistance as needed. Maintains vehicle cleanliness, reports maintenance issues, and ensures vehicle is in proper working order. Complies with all state driving laws and company policies for safe vehicle operation. Acts as a positive representative of the facility when interacting with residents, families, and the public. Conducts and hosts activities including one-on-one visits, group activities, and special programs. Assists with decorating for theme holidays and programs. Provides support with production of calendars, posters, newsletters, and mailings. Sets up rooms for events and programs and assists with attendance records. Escorts residents to and from activities. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate individuals and lead group activities. Creativity and ingenuity in serving residents. Ability to safely operate a standard vehicle. Patience, punctuality, and dependability. Knowledge of Residents' Rights and commitment to respecting those rights. Knowledge of safety, injury prevention, and infection control practices. Ability to recognize psychosocial or physical conditions that should be reported to appropriate staff. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required. Prior experience in senior living or related environment preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, drive, and walk for extended periods. Ability to assist with minimal transfers and ambulation, including use of assistive devices. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and assist with activity setup. Ability to squat, bend, and participate in activities as needed.
