We are seeking an Agronomy Technician responsible for the safe and appropriate application of fertilization and Integrated Pest Management needs for our landscape maintenance properties. Responsibilities: Identifying, diagnosing, and treating turf and ornamental issues as they arise Applying fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and insecticides as needed to lawns, shrubs and plant material in accordance with accepted industry practices, safety procedures, label instructions, and rules and requirements of various Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies Preparing and mixing products according to label instructions and product specifications, and using in accordance with prescribed safety precautions and directions Ensuring the safe and proper operation of tools, vehicles, and equipment; adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements Maintaining cleanliness of vehicle and equipment Maintaining accurate records of products used Completing all required correspondence regarding work orders Retention of customers through rapport, communication, and met expectations Using hand tools, power tools and/or equipment to perform IPM duties Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Skills/Requirements: Certified Pesticide applicator Valid driver’s license required with ability to clear Motor Vehicle Record review BMP Best Management Practices Certificate preferred Excellent communication skills and customer service skills Knowledge of pesticide, fertilizer, and herbicide products and calibration Knowledge of turf and ornamental issues Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management Ability to work cooperatively with employees and the general public, as well as working independently Horticulture, L&O and agricultural experience in related fields is preferred Experience with operating a Z sprayer Must be able and willing to work for long periods of time outside (in extreme temperatures and direct sunlight) Must be able and willing to bend, stoop, and twist repeatedly throughout the day Must be able to use hand tools and power equipment Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
