JOB SUMMARY

The Mechanical Transport (MT) Driver, works as an integral part of the RAF Adventure Training Centre at Grantown on Spey to provide essential logistical support. They are responsible for managing a fleet of 9 vehicles and associated equipment and infrastructure, working closely within a small and highly capable team of Service and Support personnel.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This SZ2 position forms part of a dedicated team in the Robson Academy of Resilience. The primary duties include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for managing the transportation of people and equipment to various destinations using a variety of MOD-funded vocational vehicles, ensuring legislative and local policy compliance by all instructional staff.
Ensuring vehicles are adequately serviced, replaced and maintained throughout their lifecycle in collaboration with the parent RAF Station, lease providers and local service providers.
Ensuring all weekly driving activities are carried out and accurately recorded where necessary to maintain compliance, including daily checks, fuelling and recovery or other road traffic incidents.
Conduct necessary driving tasks. There may be times when you will need to operate outside of normal working hours.
All employees must complete annual training, both online and in person and are responsible for recording personal administration on the HR system.
Where appropriate conduct CI activity to reduce the administrative burden on Uniformed personnel.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Administrative related skills.
Previous experience working within the defence environment.
