Job Title: Driver and Yard Person
Reports To: Logistics Coordinator
Location: Barham (some project time may be required)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Driver and Yard Person is responsible for the safe transport, delivery, and collection of plant, equipment, and tools, as well as maintaining an organised and efficient yard.
This dual-role position supports site operations through reliable transport services and effective yard management.
Key Responsibilities

Driving Duties

• Operate company vehicles to deliver or collect materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure all transport activities are completed in a timely and safe manner.
• Maintain NHVR logbook and compliance.
• Conduct daily pre-start checks and report any vehicle faults or maintenance issues.
• Complete delivery and pickup documentation accurately.
• Comply with all road transport laws and company policies.

Yard Duties

• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised yard.
• Assist with the loading/unloading and storage of materials and equipment.
• Conduct regular stocktakes and maintain accurate yard inventory records.
• Perform basic maintenance and inspections of yard tools and equipment.
• General mechanical and labouring duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Valid HC Drivers Licence
• Forklift licence (desirable)
• Construction Induction White Card (mandatory)
• Previous experience in a similar driver or yard hand role
• Sound knowledge of load restraint and manual handling
• Basic mechanical aptitude (desirable)
• Basic computer skills
