Your Impact As a Driver Assistant, you’ll help our mission make a difference by supporting the safe movement of donated goods and requested items across St. Vincent de Paul locations. This role exists to keep pickups, transfers, and deliveries running smoothly so resources reach stores, shelters, dining facilities, and other sites when they’re needed. Responsibilities include assisting Drivers with loading/unloading, securing and staging items, completing basic handling and transfer tasks, and representing SVDP with courtesy and professionalism. Qualifications/skills: - High School Diploma/GED preferred - Valid driver’s license preferred (not required) - Ability to read and follow established procedures - Respect for Catholic Church teachings and SVDP’s mission - Physical ability for an active role (standing up to 8 hours; navigating steps/ladders; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted and 50+ lbs with help) If you want purpose-driven work with real community impact, apply today. On the Road, On Purpose Your day starts onsite at 6190 Greenwell Springs Road, coordinating with the team before heading out for scheduled routes. You’ll move between warehouses, stores, and community sites, working in changing weather and active loading areas. Between stops, you’ll help keep the flow organized so items are ready for the next destination. Some days follow a steady weekday rhythm; others shift for special events or holiday needs—always with the shared goal of contributing to a meaningful impact for Baton Rouge.
