Description
The Driver will provide support to the Fleet and facilities Management department by providing safe transport of the Company’s employees, materials and equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Receives assignments from supervisor; uplifts and signs book indicating time and serial number of the vehicle. Makes routine checks on oil, fuel and water levels before operating the vehicle. 2. Transports staff with tools and equipment to and from work locations and staff working shifts to/from their homes. Observes Traffic Laws of Guyana in operating vehicle. 3. Records milage/gas and oil collected in Vehicle Logbook daily. 4. Notes any damages done to the vehicle in logbook during tour of duty and reports it so that proper records could be made by supervisor and investigations conducted. 5. Reports promptly any defects on vehicle to supervisor so that necessary remedial action may be taken to make vehicle road worthy. 6. Responsible for the safe keeping of spare wheels, lug spanner, jack and handle, tire pressure gaue, and other ancillary tools. 7. Maintains vehicle in clean and tidy condition and observes good safety practices and procedures. 8. Ensures that maintenance schedules are met. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS · Secondary Education · Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a driver of car, van, lorry or minibus · Holder of a valid Heavy Duty Driver’s License · Basic technical skills required. Ability to manipulate vehicle controls- gears, clutch, brakes, accelerator required when operating a variety of light & medium duty equipment to transport materials, components, and personnel to and from specified locations.
