About the Role: Beacon Behavioral IOP is looking to add Full Time and PRN Driver's to our team.  Our driver's play a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe transportation of patients to and from IOP appointments.  This role demands a high level of responsibility, as it directly impacts patient care and operational efficiency. Our driver will be expected to navigate diverse routes efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Additionally, the role requires maintaining the cleanliness and operational condition of the vehicle to guarantee reliability and safety. Ultimately, the driver supports the healthcare team by facilitating smooth logistical operations that contribute to quality patient outcomes and service delivery. Minimum Qualifications: * Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. * Chauffers' License and/or CDL to drive Beacon vans as our primary means of transporting our clients.  * Proven experience in transportation management or a similar driving role. * Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS navigation systems effectively. * Knowledge of and compliance with all applicable traffic laws and safety regulations. * Physical ability to assist patients and handle loading/unloading of medical supplies when required. Preferred Qualifications: * Previous experience working in the healthcare or social assistance industry. * Certification in defensive driving or specialized driver safety training. * Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality protocols. * Basic first aid, CPR and CPI certification.  * Experience with vehicle maintenance and minor repairs. Responsibilities: * Safely operate company vehicles to transport patients, medical staff, and healthcare supplies to designated locations on schedule. * Plan and follow the most efficient routes using maps and GPS technology to ensure timely arrivals and departures. * Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and report any mechanical issues promptly. * Assist patients with entering and exiting the vehicle when necessary, ensuring their comfort and safety. * Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays encountered during transportation. Skills: The required skills of transportation management and map reading are essential for daily route planning and ensuring timely deliveries within the healthcare environment. Drivers use transportation management skills to coordinate schedules, optimize routes, and manage time effectively, which is critical for meeting patient and organizational needs. Map reading skills enable the driver to navigate unfamiliar areas confidently and adjust routes in response to traffic or other delays. Preferred skills such as defensive driving and first aid enhance safety and preparedness, allowing the driver to respond appropriately to emergencies. Additionally, knowledge of healthcare protocols supports respectful and compliant interactions with patients and staff, ensuring a professional and compassionate service.
