Description New York Bus Sales, the largest authorized Blue Bird School Bus dealership in New York State currently has an immediate opening for a Driver Coordinator for our current location in Chittenango, NY. New York Bus Sales will be relocating to Syracuse mid spring. New York Bus Sales is a full-service dealership offering sales, service, parts and graphics. We provide safe, dependable buses for our customers and professional services to meet their needs. The primary function of a Driver Coordinator is to oversee all aspects of the bus delivery and pick-up process. This includes but is not limited to, coordinating with our teams for buses in need of transport, communicating with our internal and external partners regarding transport scheduling, maintaining Driver Qualification files, maintain FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse duties and scheduling the drivers. The employee in this position also performs duties within established policy guidelines, such as bus check in and inventory maintenance. Most assignments are completed independently. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate with internal resources for bus transportation needs Schedule bus transportation, new and service related, to and from customer's locations and our other facilities. Organize, and maintain Driver Qualification files for compliance with State & Federal regulations as well as FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearing house. Train, schedule, and supervise assigned employees and provide assistance when needed. Maintain inventory location, new and service related by performing new unit check ins and confirming on-site service unit locations. Ensure all required delivery paperwork is received by customers on time. Maintain inventory locations on-site for strategic and efficient operation. Maintain vehicle loaner contracts. Perform monthly inventory audits with financial partners Monitor hours worked and payroll records of direct reports to ensure accuracy. Understand, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect drivers. Enforce all company policies and procedures. Work safely and enforce all safety procedures and governmental safety regulations and hold employees accountable to work safely. Occasionally travel to other NYBS and customer locations, seminars to perform duties. OTHER DUTIES Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements EDUCATION / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred. NYS CDL, Class A or B driver license with full Passenger and Air Brake endorsements with NO N, N1, or N2 restrictions required. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and other computer programs is desired. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / ABILITIES Ability to understand safety-related information to successfully train and demonstrate the methods and procedures to all departmental staff. Ability to travel with drivers to observe job performance and adherence to safety guidelines. Ability to plan and meet reporting deadlines. Ability to work independently, accomplishing the goals of the position with little direct supervision. Be safety conscious and demonstrate the ability to follow prescribed safety practices as to prevent injuries to self and other employees. Full-time, Monday thru Friday, Day shift.
