About the Role: The Driver position is a critical role within our durable goods manufacturing operations, responsible for the safe and timely transportation of materials and finished products. Minimum Qualifications: * Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A. * Proven experience in truck driving, specifically with dump trucks and box trucks. * Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards. * Ability to read maps and use GPS navigation systems effectively. * Experience in warehousing or transportation management environments. Preferred Qualifications: * Additional endorsements on CDL such as hazardous materials or tanker endorsements. * Experience working within the durable goods manufacturing industry. * Familiarity with transportation management software and electronic logging devices (ELDs). * Strong communication skills for effective coordination with team members and clients. * Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous professional development. Responsibilities: * Operate commercial vehicles such as dump trucks and box trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods within designated routes. * Comply with all DOT regulations and company policies to ensure safety and legal operation of commercial vehicles. * Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and report any mechanical issues promptly. * Read and interpret maps and GPS data to plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries. * Coordinate with warehousing and transportation management teams to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring accurate documentation and load security. Skills: The required skills such as truck driving and knowledge of DOT regulations are applied daily to ensure the safe and compliant operation of commercial vehicles. Proficiency in reading maps and using GPS technology enables efficient route planning and timely deliveries. The CDL Class A license is essential for legally operating the specified vehicles, while experience with dump trucks and box trucks ensures familiarity with vehicle handling and load management. Transportation management and warehousing knowledge facilitate effective coordination with logistics teams, optimizing supply chain processes.
