Description Summary/Objectives The basic function of the Truck Driver is to safely and accurately move material between our vendors and our warehouses. This includes checking, labeling and securing material, keeping track of paperwork and assisting with loading and unloading. Requirements Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Daily pre-trip inspections and reporting of any equiEssential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Daily pre-trip inspections and reporting of any equipment issues • Safe and legal driving • Pick up materials from our vendors, check the material and paperwork to ensure correct material is picked up, label everything with the store, customer name and order number. • Secure cargo to avoid damage • Deliver materials to the Kent Distribution Center or our stores as instructed • Communicate with vendors, other drivers, warehouse staff and management Competencies • Comply with state, federal and company safety regulations • Reliability • Work independently • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Mastering the paperwork • Understanding our truck schedule/routes Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as phones, photocopiers and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, knives, markers, shrink wrap and more. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb in and out of trucks and trailers. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday -hours to be determined. Overtime could be required due to traffic conditions, work load, staffing issues or other reasons. Travel Local travel only is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience • Clean driving record Preferred Education and Experience • Three years of prior experience. • Industry knowledge. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Valid Drivers License, Tractor trailer drivers must have a Class A CDL and valid DOT physical card.
