PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Driver Helper assists drivers who deliver goods to businesses and customers. As a driver helper, you will be responsible for all activities except the actual driving: loading and unloading items, contacting customers, collecting payments, keeping in touch with dispatcher or manager, doing delivery paperwork etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Loading and unloading company products Assisting drivers to find delivery locations Compiling accurate delivery records and reports Reporting all delivery-related issues to the supervisor Effectively communicating with clients and customers to resolve complaints Assisting with the unloading products from the truck on each delivery location Obtaining clients and customers’ signatures as an acknowledgement of having received the delivered products Ensuring that all safety policies and procedures are adhered to Any other duties assigned by the management SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Proven customer service experience is preferred Able to work in a fast-paced environment Able to work flexible hours Excellent communication skills Friendly and professional demeanor Ability to work with little supervision PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Successfully passing the Human Performance Evaluation on Lift, Lift-Carry, Push-Pull, Climb, and Repetitive Posture. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. Frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 75lbs Repetitive hand use is required, including pushing and pulling up to 50lbs, reaching above shoulder Frequent bending and squatting are required The employee must be able to safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area. EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING: High school or GED equivalent.
