Description SUMMARY: Responsible for planning and executing p.m. deliveries and overseeing the staff of p.m. drivers. Provide mentoring as necessary and to collaborate and interact with others in a positive and effective manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Plan and execute p.m. deliveries working in conjunction with Operations and Distribution Specialist/Route Managers. Oversee p.m. delivery team. Fill in when needed to complete deliveries. Assist with completion of a.m. routes as needed. Assist with transportation of route vehicles to and from garage for repairs as needed. Assist with check in of drivers from a.m. deliveries as well and p.m. deliveries. Must have the ability to identify and understand customer requirements. Follow good manufacturing and housekeeping practices. Follow/comply with all safety guidelines, and OSHA safety standards. Be familiar with all DOT requirements for operating a tractor trailer crossing state line. Other duties may be assigned or requested. COMPETENCIES: Good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skill. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. One to two years of route sales work experience a plus. Language Skills: Ability to read. Ability to respond to Customer and employee inquires. Good communication skill required. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions supplied both written and verbal. Computer Skills: General computer skills required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Class “A” CDL license, current vehicle liability insurance, and driving record within MVR policy guidelines. Other Skills and Abilities: None. Other Qualifications: Ability to operate a manual/powered pallet jack to lift/move product. TRAVEL REQUIRED: Required daily. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Responsibilities
The Driver Lead P.M. is responsible for planning and executing p.m. deliveries while overseeing the p.m. delivery team. This role includes filling in for drivers as needed and assisting with vehicle transportation and driver check-ins.
