JOB SUMMARY

The driver manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s team of drivers and fleet of tractors. The individual is responsible for coordinating dispatches with FedEx Linehaul and managing the assignment of tractors to drivers. This position also includes driving duties to temporarily fill in for open positions, relieve drivers on PTO or engage rescue and recovery of loads encountered in the event of a breakdown .

• Trip rescue/recovery, training of new drivers, and any other business related tasks that may be required of you.
• Monitor vehicle performance and maintenance schedules, ensuring timely servicing and repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of all fleet activities, including maintenance logs, fuel consumption, and vehicle inspections.
• Coordinate with dispatcher to ensure efficient scheduling of available tractors
• Collaborate with external vendors for vehicle repairs, maintenance services, and parts procurement.
• Ensure that all vehicles are equipped with necessary safety equipment and are compliant with local laws and regulations.
• Train drivers on proper vehicle use, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures.
