Your journey to making a positive impact starts here! POSITION SYNOPSIS: The Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and customer‑focused transportation of Elderhaus PACE participants. This role transports participants to and from the Center, medical appointments, and activity outings, while also delivering meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy items, and other essential supplies. The Driver ensures the cleanliness, safety, and proper operation of assigned vehicles and communicates promptly with the Transportation Coordinator regarding any safety, maintenance, or scheduling concerns. This position plays a vital role in promoting participant dignity, safety, and well‑being while supporting Elderhaus operations and the interdisciplinary team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Safely transport PACE participants according to assigned schedules, adapting to changes as needed while communicating adjustments to dispatch. * Transport meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy items, and other necessary supplies.  * Provide physical assistance to participants entering and exiting vehicles, ensuring comfort and safety. * Maintain assigned vehicle in clean, orderly condition and complete daily pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.  * Immediately report vehicle malfunctions, incidents, or safety concerns to the Transportation Coordinator. * Operate vehicles safely and in accordance with all licensing, regulatory, and organizational requirements. * Maintain accurate transportation‑related records, including mileage, fuel purchases, and safety logs.  * Participate in interdisciplinary team communication regarding participant conditions or care plan changes. * Adhere to OSHA guidelines, universal precautions, and all Elderhaus PACE policies. * Support Quality Improvement initiatives and attend required training and staff meetings. * Maintain confidentiality of participant information and uphold participant rights and dignity. EDUCATION: * High School diploma or GED required. EXPERIENCE: * Minimum one year of experience working with frail or elderly adults preferred.  QUALIFICATIONS: * Must be at least 23 years old to meet insurance requirements. * Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required.  * Ability to read and understand maps and routing information.  * Strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate respectfully and professionally with participants, caregivers, and staff. * Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and function effectively in stressful situations. * Knowledge of transportation safety practices and universal precautions.  * Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow all regulatory and organizational guidelines.
