Description JOB SUMMARY: The Driver will play a vital part in ensuring patients are transported safely, comfortably, and on time, supporting their access to essential healthcare services. The Driver will be responsible for working independently, building meaningful connections, and serving others with dignity and respect. The Driver will operate company vehicles, assist patients with care and professionalism, and collaborate closely with staff to ensure a smooth and coordinated patient experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Safely operates vehicle, adhering to traffic and parking regulations Lift, push, and maneuver patients and equipment weighing up to 125+ pounds, with or without assistance or appropriate equipment. Assist passengers with entering and exiting vehicles using proper techniques and equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, stretchers). Secure passengers and equipment in accordance with safety protocols. Maintain situational awareness while driving, including the ability to see, hear, and respond to road conditions and surroundings. Work in varying environments, including exposure to weather conditions, traffic, and medical environments, including potential exposure to bodily fluids or odors, using appropriate safety precautions. Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections to ensure operational readiness. Provide professional, respectful service and support to a diverse population. Other Duties: Use navigation tools to ensure timely arrivals and efficient routing. Ensure proper communication on trip status, delays, and updates. Complete trip logs, documentation, and reporting accurately and on time. Follow all company policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements, including HIPAA. Maintain focus, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Attends and actively participates in monthly staff meetings. Perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 21 years of age - required Must have a valid driver's license - required Must have a clean driving record – required Must have active BLS certification upon start date– required Education: · High School Diploma or equivalent – required KEY COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS: Faith to believe that Hope is a ministry of God, exemplifying the love of Christ, and held and directed by the Holy Spirit. Ability to operate general office machinery and equipment (computers, calculators, copy/fax machines, telephones, etc.) as well as safely operate a motor vehicle. Proven leadership, teambuilding, and organizational skills. Proven ability to maintain integrity in a fast paced and high-demand environment. Proven ability to manage performance goals. Ability to interact with people from all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles; ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively, and sensitively to special populations TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and lifting and/or moving up to 125+ pounds. Occasional sitting. Manual dexterity. Good reading eyesight and vision for close work. Ability to communicate by speaking and hearing in person or on the phone. Ability to travel to various locations.
