We value reliability, hard work, and treating our employees with respect.  Job Description The Rear-load Driver is responsible for supporting key operations within the waste management and recycling industry. This role contributes to the organization’s success through strong execution, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to safety, service quality, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Safety & Vehicle Operation * Demonstrate strong vehicle control, including backing, turning, and maneuvering in tight or congested environments * Comply with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies and procedures * Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections  * Utilize safe backing procedures, including coordination with helpers  * Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues immediately Route Execution & Productivity * Complete routes safely, on time, and in accordance with service and productivity expectations  * Maintain route pace in high-volume environments  * Follow route sheets and dispatcher instructions  Manual Collection & Team Coordination * Ensure helpers follow safe work practices and company procedures while on route * Work closely with helpers to collect and load waste into the truck  * Assist with loading waste when needed  * Ensure safe coordination with helpers, especially during backing operations  Customer Service & Site Standards * Provide courteous service to residential customers  * Ensure streets and collection areas are left clean and free of debris  * Report service issues or missed pickups  * Represent the company professionally at all times while in the field Equipment Operation & Waste Handling * Operate packer controls and loading mechanisms safely  * Identify and report unacceptable or hazardous waste  Documentation & Communication * Complete DVIRs, route sheets, and required documentation  * Maintain communication with dispatch throughout the shift  Safety & Compliance Expectations * Drivers are responsible for safe execution of their duties. The Safety Department provides training, standards, and oversight. Drivers must follow all safety procedures and actively participate in training.  Minimum Qualifications * Valid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement  * Valid DOT medical certification  * Ability to perform physically demanding work  * Strong teamwork and communication skills  Preferred Qualifications * 1+ year CDL experience  * Experience in residential or manual collection environments  Physical Requirements * Continuous climbing, walking, and manual labor  * Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions  Work Environment & Schedule * Full-time, early morning start  * Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays  * Work performed in residential neighborhood   Why Join Us?
