Here at Hitachi Rail, we have a great opportunity for a dedicated Driver Refueller to join our team at Stoke Gifford Train Maintenance Centre in Bristol.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for driving, replenishing and servicing the trains, also supporting the maintenance staff as required with corrective and preventative maintenance of Hitachi rolling stock assets. This is a permanent position working on a rotating night shift basis only.
Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:
- Under the control of the PIC (Person In Charge) undertake train movements, driving trains within the confines of the Train maintenance Centre.
- Undertaken Servicing of train arriving at from service this will include but is not limited to replenishment of Diesel, Ad-Blu, fresh water for the toilet and galley systems, drivers windscreen wash, sand hoppers fitted to the train and toilet system servicing.
- Record all servicing undertaken and fluids or materials used in the required maintenance management system (MMS).
- Monitor the Maintenance Management System (SAP) to ensure all work is being recorded correctly.
- Carry out daily checks of service spine equipment and ensure area is tidy/clean
- Reporting of any defects found, notifying the Refuelling Team Leader/ Duty Shift Manager and recording this in the maintenance management system (MMS). .
- Support the Maintenance staff as required with corrective and preventative maintenance, complex fault finding and repair of Hitachi rolling stock assets.
- Support the continued development of the maintenance management system (MMS). Ensure all servicing requirements are captured and delivered.
- Ensure all fluid and material usage is controlled and recorded and any materials being returned to the stores for repair are correctly labelled and process is followed.
- Comply with the lean principles, best practice as instructed, and other out stabled locations as necessary.
- Support the maintenance staff and cleaners to ensuring the contractual agreed number of trains are made available for service.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE
- Experience of supporting a maintenance team on a shift bases in a modern rolling stock maintenance depot environment or similar.
- Safety awareness gained in operational railway environments.
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work.
- Good communication skills, ability to carry out clear instructions
- Experience of modern maintenance management systems (MMS) and associated reliability and available trend analysis.
- Manual Handling, COSHH, working at height, Powered plant and tools – air / 110v experience.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- A level of engineering background knowledge preferable
DESIRED SKILLS (NOT ESSENTIAL)
- Basic IT skills
- First Aider
- Experience in the operation of refuelling points for rolling stock
- Depot Protection system
