Description

HAYLEY DEXIS are looking for a Driver/Stores Assistant to join our well-established and expanding team based at our branch in Hull.
Hayley Dexis is the largest independent distributor of engineering products and consumables in the UK. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, we provide cutting-edge solutions to our clients across various industries, ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of fluid power systems. We are an equal opportunities employer, currently employing over 1,200 people who continue to be a cornerstone of our business and are fundamental to providing industry-leading customer service.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE VAN DRIVER / STORES ASSISTANT ROLE.

As our Driver/Stores Assistant your role will be an integral part of the Hull branch, and you will be responsible for ensuring that deliveries arrive at customer sites in a timely and efficient manner.
Your typical day will be arriving in the morning, making up customer orders, loading items in the van to align with your delivery route, and then you’ll be out on deliveries.
You’ll use your knowledge of the local area to help deliver customer orders and take pride in making sure they are in good condition.
Once finished, you’ll be helping around out in the stores.
Helping in the stores is the kind of environment where everyone mucks in and helps across a variety of tasks. That could mean one moment you’d be helping on picking and packing and the next picking up a brush and helping to keep the environment tidy and clean. There’s no task this team doesn’t do and so if you are someone that is looking for a role that is varied and you like getting stuck in then this could be the perfect fit!

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring that all customer orders are complete.
  • Arranging the items systematically in the delivery vehicle to align with the planned delivery route.
  • Knowledge of the area to deliver packages to customers in a timely manner.
  • Conducting routine maintenance inspections on delivery vans and notifying management of any identified issues.
  • Delivering products in good condition to the clients including stock replenishment.
  • Interacting with clients in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Unloading packages at the destination and obtaining all necessary delivery paperwork and documentation.
