Job Description: • Maintain and coordinate general maintenance of department van • Operating the department van for pick-ups and deliveries and other needs as required including the pick-up of toys from various locations and delivery to the Christmas warehouse • Assist in the operation of the Christmas warehouse • Maintain a record of all daily pick-ups and deliveries • Maintain general cleanliness and organize contents of the department’s vehicles • Provide daily reports of daily activities to the The Salvation Army, Ches Penney Centre of Hope, Community and Family Services Manager. • Providing The Salvation Army with a positive visibility within the community • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness in the food room • Perform other duties as may be required • This is a full time temporary position. • The work requires frequent amount of standing, walking, bending, repetitive lifting, and the ability to lift up to 39 pounds with no assistance from others. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities. • Abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures. • Valid full Driver’s License for the province; an original copy of a current Driver’s Abstract that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required. • Demonstrated safe driving practices. • Able to work independently and as part of a team. • Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution. • Must comply with all Salvation Army policies, procedures, and associated legislation. . Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening. Compensation: Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
