Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals to join the Learning and Development Department working as a Driving Instructor within the Driving Training Unit based at Suffolk Police Headquarters, Martlesham, Ipswich.
As a Police Driving Instructor you will work across the curriculum areas to ensure the delivery of training to new recruits, officers, and staff. You will provide instruction in the driving of all types of Police vehicles and associated duties, potentially up to and including advanced driver and pursuit level. You will give effective classroom inputs, driving tuition and conduct driving assessments to consider the suitability of candidates to drive police vehicles.
Driving Training Unit takes pride in their cleanliness and roadworthiness of vehicles and these standards will be kept alongside accurate record keeping and administration to support each driving course.
This role requires high standards of behaviour, dress, and performance as you will be acting as a role model for the organisational values. You must be able to motivate your learners and meet high organisational standards being flexible and resilient to unpredictable changes in schedules.
The role will predominantly be based at Suffolk Constabulary Headquarters, Martlesham, but you may be required to work across Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies to meet the demand of driver training, as may be reasonably required.
