Job Details: Job Description DT04 Driver Support Trainer Instructor Purpose This position is responsible for training and supporting Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDLA) drivers. Training and development will include new hire on-boarding, annual recurring, behavior-based, and remedial post event. Driver Support Trainers will be available to assist drivers with any day-to-day situations they may encounter. Responsibilities Must be familiar with Department of Transportation regulations with a specific focus on Hours of Service, Driver Qualifications, Electronic Logging Device, Navigation, Permits, and Vehicle Inspections. Ability to train CDL drivers with various levels of experience. Deliver instruction both in a classroom and one on one settings through practical, hands-on training. Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively engage with drivers, operators, and management. Customer service-oriented approach, assisting drivers and managers through phone support, e-mail, or personal interactions. Conduct onsite training sessions with drivers at field locations. Other duties as assigned. Skills Able to perform all necessary safety functions while performing training and instructing including working in an outdoor environment. Including but not limited to: Consistently able to use three points of contact when entering and exiting equipment during training sessions. Capable of conducting a comprehensive DOT inspection of both truck and trailer, including the ability to navigate beneath the trailer to verify the equipment's proper functioning. Moving training supplies such as placement of traffic cones, barrels, barriers, etc. Standing for extended periods while conducting hands-on training and road testing. Requirements: Ability to access and manage data through spreadsheets and dashboards. Working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation Part 395. One year of experience in the transportation field. CDL-A Driving experience required. Must pass MVR check: Must be 18 years of age or older Must have a valid driver’s license Must not have any DUI/DWI convictions within the last 12 months Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. *Prior Tyson Team members are eligible for rehire after completing a 180-day waiting period. *Prior Tyson Team members cannot have worked 3 times or more for Tyson Foods.
