QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Class 1 Driver’s License and clean abstract with a minimum of 5 years driving experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a driver trainer with demonstrated mentorship in Oil and Gas, or other Heavy Industrial sectors; Licensed driving instructor preferred, not required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of oilfield transportation equipment such as tractor trailers, pneumatic tankers, pressure pumping equipment, etc.
  • Proven experience training individuals and groups while developing professional expertise
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with natural mentoring abilities
  • Comfortable travelling to various base locations and mentoring in the field
  • Current certifications: First Aid, ODA, WHMIS, TDG, H2S
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Hours-of-Service regulations
  • Proficient with MS Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Relocation support available for exceptional candidates
Responsibilities
  • Actively coach and mentor safe driving behaviour while delivering hands-on driver training and mentorship for Sanjel employees
  • Complete driver assessments and driver inspections as necessary, as well as instruct and audit pre-trip preparation, logbook training, and provide ongoing and personalized coaching as required
  • Reflect and adhere to Sanjel Energy’s Safety culture, acting as a steward for Safety
  • Ensure all training vehicles meet mechanical, equipment, and documentation requirements
  • Maintain current knowledge of all driver training standards and ensure instructors remain updated with regulatory changes
  • Generate, review and submit driver training progress reports, track individual driver development and make recommendations for improvement
  • Liaise with managers regarding employee progress and training objectives and provide feedback regarding current driver training programs
