Description:
Kleysen is seeking a full-time, permanent Driver Training & Compliance Supervisor. This position is responsible to develop and facilitate the training of our professional team of drivers and evaluate and enhance their skills through developmental coaching. As a champion for our Safety 1st culture, this position promotes an environment of learning and continuous improvement while supporting the operational needs of our business units to ensure Kleysen continues to meet all regulatory requirements.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Proven ability to develop and implement training programs for a variety of learners, utilizing technology to deliver best in class learning experiences. A certificate in Adult Learning would be ideal.
- A current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Air Brake Endorsement with driving experience. Experience in commercial driver road skill evaluation a requirement.
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance is a must for this role.
- Proficiency in utilizing various software within Microsoft Office is a must and experience with transportation tools a definite asset (i.e. TM Carrier’s Edge, eLogs, dashcams.)
- Post- secondary education in Transportation and/or Business Administration considered an asset.
- Exposure to or training in the SMITH System and/or PDIC considered an asset
Responsibilities:
- New Driver Evaluation and Orientation - conduct Road evaluations using our proven method to identify suitability, strengths, and training opportunities for potential candidates. Facilitate and deliver new driver orientations and training using a blended approach of classroom, in the field and elearning platforms. Provide support to new hires for a successful transition to the Business Unit.
- Driver Training Program Development – evaluate, design, develop and deliver the fleet training programs by identifying new trends in the transportation industry, regulatory changes, and best-in-class training experience to support ongoing learning for our fleet of drivers.
- Supervision of Driver Compliance and Coaching – oversee and participate in the monitoring and audit of key regulatory compliance and safety alerts such as hours of service (using both electronic and paper logs), and equipment operation alerts to provide recommendations to business unit and Safety Manager with appropriate coaching, remedial training, and/or discipline. Supervises the Driver Services Administrator in the regular review of compliance and alert investigations.
- Resource – is a subject matter expert to Kleysen business units and the fleet related to regulatory interpretations, identifying training to support new business initiatives, addressing concerns, and responding to driver questions.
