JOB SUMMARY

The driver/vehicle maintenance worker is responsible for the safe/legal operation of agency vehicles and providing basic maintenance of the vehicles.

QUALIFICATION

This position requires a valid CDL or Chauffeurs driver license, an acceptable accident/violation motor vehicle record, experience in transporting wheelchairs, basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent and 1 year of working experience with the intellectual disabled population preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Transport clients to/from the assigned destination and assist them on/off the vehicle as required.
• Completes assigned deliveries and pickups, which may include shopping duties.
• Report any necessary maintenance work on agency vehicles.
• Prepares all required records and reports.
• Assures that vehicles are maintained in a safe manner.
• Provide basic maintenance to the agency vehicles.
• Contact vendors related to vehicle repairs when necessary.
• Maintain up-to-date state inspections and up-to-date registrations on vehicles.
• Ensure cleanliness of all agency vehicles on a weekly basis.
• Assist and participate in emergency evacuation.
• Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor
