Description
Role Summary The Driver / Warehouse Associate I will be responsible for safely and punctually packaging and transporting goods to their destination while adhering to traffic laws.  Key duties include route planning, vehicle inspections, loading / unloading goods, maintaining accurate logs, and communicating effectively with team members.     Also, the Driver / Warehouse Associate I will be engaged in ensuring orderly receipt, movement, and distribution of inventory / consumables based on established policies, processes and procedures and predetermined stocking requirements.  Contributes to the orderly operation of storage areas in the warehouse and vivarium.     Role Responsibilities * Safely package and transport samples, documents, and medical products to designated locations as required by site / department head * Maintain accurate records of deliveries to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting standards * Ensure all deliveries are timely and in accordance with established schedules * Receive and inspect inventory / consumables shipments from delivery trucks * Verify accuracy of item quantities and quality - check for damaged or defective items * Submit shipping documents to Finance & Accounting for further processing * Organize and store inventory / consumables in assigned locations (rooms, shelves, bins, etc.) * Manage FIFO (first in, first out) methodology to ensure integrity of inventory / consumables * Monitor stocking levels and regularly communicate with Buyer and Procurement Manager * Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and equipment use * Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents and improve operational efficiency * Communicate effectively with team members and managers to resolve any operational challenges * Participate in training programs to improve skills and knowledge of warehouse/vivarium operations  * Other duties as assigned   Role Requirements * High school diploma or equivalent required * Valid drivers’ license to operate a motor vehicle * Clean diving record and ability to multitask * Minimum of 3 years of warehouse experience required.     Vivarium/healthcare environment preferred * Proficiency with Microsoft Office core applications and the ability to learn and use additional applications * Previous experience with Microsoft Business Central or another ERP system desired * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail * Excellent written and communication skills   Behavioral Expectations * Teamwork * Adaptability/Flexibility * Dependability   Special Requirements * The person filling this position will spend approximately 70% of their time in a warehouse/vivarium and 30% in an office setting. There will be exposure to animal pathogens, chemicals, and cold temperatures (dry ice) * Ability to don and wear personal protective gear, including N95 masks and respirators * Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Occasionally ascend/descend ladders and stairs Monday - Friday 8:30-5pm ET
