ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Country Prime Meats is looking for a full-time Driver & Warehouse Handler based in Lac La Hache, B.C.
Reporting to the Procurement & Logistics Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our logistics and warehouse operations, ensuring timely transportation of refrigerated goods and efficient movement of materials on-site.
In this position, you will split your time between driving and warehouse responsibilities. For two shifts per week, you will operate as a Class 1 Driver transporting freight between the Cariboo and Lower Mainland. On remaining weekdays, you will work as a Warehouse Handler supporting shipping, receiving, and packaging operations.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operating a Class 1 company vehicle to transport refrigerated goods on scheduled routes
  • Conducting and recording vehicle inspections, mileage logs, and trailer details
  • Loading and unloading trailers while ensuring products are tagged, recorded, and handled per FIFO
  • Assisting with packaging by staging, wrapping, and prepping finished product pallets
  • Moving trailers, trucks, and materials around the facility as needed
  • Supporting daily shipping and receiving tasks, including inventory handling and dock cleanup
  • Maintaining and charging power equipment used in warehouse operations
  • Upholding safety standards across all areas of transport and logistics

MORE ABOUT YOU

To qualify, you will need a valid Class 1 driver’s license and 2+ years of commercial driving experience in Canada.

The following are required:

  • Ability to undergo an annual driver screening, including driving history review
  • Availability for early morning shifts
  • Physical ability to perform warehouse-related duties

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory handling
  • Familiarity with operating and maintaining powered warehouse equipment
  • Knowledge of First-In, First-Out (FIFO) handling for perishable goods
  • Experience in the food or meat processing industry
  • Ability to conduct and log vehicle inspections using electronic logging devices (ELDs)
  • Understanding of trailer sanitation and cleanliness requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Comfort operating automatic sleeper trucks and handling long-haul routes

In exchange for your hard work and reliability, you will receive a competitive hourly wage based on your duties:

  • $18.50–$22.50/hour for warehouse shifts (remaining weekdays), based on skills and experienc
