JOB DESCRIPTION

MoldCable INC. is looking for a Drop Bury Technician to support the installation and maintenance of the critical infrastructure that connects homes and businesses. This hands-on role involves burying low-voltage communication cables—including coaxial, fiber optic, and telephone lines—from utility pedestals or service access points to customer properties.
As a Drop Bury Technician, you’ll evaluate job sites, plan efficient cable routes, and ensure safe excavation practices while avoiding existing underground utilities. We’re seeking candidates with a background in outdoor manual work, who are familiar with 811 utility locating, and confident in operating trenchers and other related equipment.
This role also includes interacting with customers, restoring work areas to their original condition, and documenting job details with photos and notes through digital reporting tools.
This is a physically demanding field position that requires a strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work in every project.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in drop bury preferred (training available)
  • Valid driver’s license and Social Security card, with a clean driving record
  • Access to a white van, minivan, or pickup truck preferred
  • Ability to read site maps and operate trenching tools and equipment
  • CDL license or experience with mechanized trenchers is a plus
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors
Responsibilities
  • Locate existing utilities using proper methods and avoid them before digging
  • Install and bury low‑voltage communication cables (coaxial, fiber optic, etc.) from pedestals to customer premises
  • Ensure proper burial depth and full compliance with safety codes and industry standards
  • Safely operate vehicles, trenchers, and other required tools and equipment during all phases of the job
  • Restore job sites to their original (or better) condition once installation is complete
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed — photos, measurements, and detailed notes
  • Provide friendly, professional service during customer interactions
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
