Responsible for staff training and supervision, overall quality of services provided by team of Recovery Support Specialists, program development, and monitoring and reaching finance and program grant deliverables. Supervisor contributes as a Recovery Support Specialist serving in the Drop-In Center open 364 days per year. Drop-In offers a community based, member driven drop-in center that offers recovery focused support, advocacy, leisure and enrichment activities to persons living with mental illness and disabilities who desire to engage fully in community life. and will be open at flexible times that meet member identified social, interpersonal, and educational/informational needs that improve their level of community integration, stability, and personal satisfaction. The drop-in staff will also serve as early identifiers of risk or instability in members and be able to intervene and encourage members self-refer or take actions to refer members to more formal clinical services    Primary Responsibilities * Plan, implement, and oversee drop-in center activities and staffing. Delegate and coordinate with team members and drop-in guests to allow for skill development and engagement. * Develop member and community focused marketing materials, flyers, announcements to ‘get the word out’ and recruit members * Identify and develop a calendar of drop-in center activities * Set hours of operation for the drop-in that reflect members needs * Prepare and update staffing schedule assuring that 2-3 staff are present during drop-in center open hours. * Oversee staff responsible for facility set-up and maintenance f. Oversee staff responsible for travel assistance and transportation * Oversee and meet all grant deliverables * Develop, recruit membership, and participate in Kenneth Young Center Mount Prospect Drop-in Member Advisory Council * Incorporate Advisory Council input into program schedule and activities * Ensure all staff members are providing high-quality, supportive peer counseling utilizing personal experience to establish a warm and empathic connection with members and as needed, their families/significant others * Facilitate leisure group activities * Promote opportunities for clients to build natural systems of support within their communities through exposure to recreational, spiritual, educational, vocational, volunteer and civic activities * Work with members to develop personal Wellness Action Recovery Plans * Regularly consult with other Behavioral Health teams including Intensive Team services, Outpatient Services, Front Door, Crisis and Living Room, Employment services and Intensive Group Recovery Services, to address specific member issues and coordinate care strategies * Work cooperatively with other Center teams/staff to maintain smooth transitions and effective continuity of care * Ongoing program evaluation and work with other team supervisors and managers to provide an extensive continuity of care   Administrative and Performance Requirements * Monitor staffing needs and coordinate with program manager to ensure program needs met and maintaining grant financial deliverables: interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and retaining staff * Supervise and train Drop-in center staff, up to 8 direct reports * Provide CRSS development and supervision in a group format to Recovery Support Staff in Behavioral Health Services * Oversee and coordinate CRSS internship opportunities * Liaison with DHS CRSS specialist to secure or maintain Drop-in staff credentials and on-going training * Oversee development and maintenance of local community resources and groups (NAMI, AA etc.). Recovery literature, on-line materials/websites to support members * Participate in supervision as directed * Participate in BH Recovery leadership team meetings, activities, and program development * Lead Drop-in team meetings and participate in other agency meetings and trainings as directed by supervisor * Interpret and communicate, at the service delivery level, Center policies and procedures * Complete all required program attendance reports and budget reports in an accurate and timely manner   Education, Experience and Other requirements * Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology or a related discipline preferred * Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) certification in Illinois * At least 3 years of experience working with individuals recovering from serious and persistent mental illness providing peer support, case management and/or community support * At least 1 year experience working in non-traditional community settings ie: drop in, senior center, special recreation program * Basic computer proficiency, knowledge of Word and Email/Internet skills, and internal collaboration applications (ie Microsoft 365 / Teams) * Applicant must have a valid IL Driver’s License, valid auto insurance, and access to a well maintained/insured vehicle   Work Environment * This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. * Up to 25% of the employee’s time will be spent in the community, driving to and from community events, social outings, and other public places    Travel * The employee is required to drive the KYC owned passenger van to and from client homes and to various sites in the community and surrounding areas. * Employee may also be required to attend occasional meetings/trainings in and around KYC’s catchment area. I   Schedule/Timekeeping * Full-time, Non-Exempt, 37.5 hours per week * Position is generally Monday-Friday during business hours and early evening hours.
