ABOUT THE ROLE

Health professional thinking about making a move to Alcohol & other drugs (AOD) services, or early career practitioner? This supportive & rewarding community role ticks all the boxes!
The Alcohol and Other Drugs Clinician, working as part of a multidisciplinary team, is responsible for providing assessment, case management, referral and follow up for clients seeking assistance with substance use problems. This may involve brief interventions, counselling, initiating and managing planned treatment options, consultation and referral to other agencies or crisis management.
The alcohol and other drugs team collaborate for the greater good through an open, flexible and dynamic, strengths-based approach. We listen to understand, not label. The AOD sector offers a challenging and rewarding specialisation, with a strong focus on human rights and intellectually stimulating work.
