OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Taper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and restoration, with experience in various aspects of the trade. The Taper will be responsible for finishing drywall and ensuring that surfaces are prepared for painting or other finishes. This role requires attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the ability to work effectively on construction sites.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience in construction, with a focus on tapering or related trades such as plastering, carpentry, or remodeling.
• Familiarity with construction estimating and project management processes is a plus.
• Strong skills in blueprint reading and understanding of schematics.
• Experience with various construction techniques including metal stud framing, tile laying, caulking, door hanging, and fixture installation.
• Knowledge of water damage restoration processes and mold remediation practices is desirable.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team on construction sites.

• Apply tape and joint compound to drywall seams to create a smooth finish.
• Prepare surfaces by sanding and cleaning as necessary before applying finishes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to ensure accurate work.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and plumbers, to complete projects efficiently.
• Assist in the installation of fixtures and trim carpentry as needed.
• Perform water damage restoration tasks, including mold remediation and flooring installation.
• Utilize airless paint spraying techniques for efficient application of finishes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment on construction sites.
