JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide individualized, community-based support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including individuals with behavioral challenges. The DSP will play a vital role in empowering individuals to achieve greater independence, community inclusion, and improved quality of life.
Shift schedule: 9 am-3 pm

• Provide direct care and support to individuals in various community settings, including transportation, social events, volunteer opportunities, and recreational activities.
• Assist with implementing individualized service plans (ISPs), behavior support plans (BSPs), and person-centered goals.
• Support individuals in developing life skills, such as communication, personal care, safety awareness, and daily living tasks.
• Utilize positive behavior support strategies and de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors respectfully and effectively.
• Foster community integration by facilitating participation in meaningful activities, promoting natural supports, and building social connections.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and data collection related to behavior and goal achievement.
• Communicate effectively with team members, family members, and interdisciplinary professionals to ensure consistent and quality support.
• Ensure the health, safety, and dignity of each individual is maintained at all times.

  Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
  Expected hours: 30 per week
