Job Description AHRC New York City is seeking Full and Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Adult Day Programs in All Five Boroughs. Full-Time Positions: Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm. Pay Rate: $17-$18 per hour...increases to $18 per hour after six moths if in good standing. In addition, this position comes with a comprehensive Benefit package. See Benefit information below. Per-Diem positions: Schedule: Monday -Friday 8:30am -2:30pm. Pay Rate: $20 per hour The following Bonuses are available to both Full-Time and Per-diem positions, depending on the Programs need $2,000 annually upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive Driving class $2,000 annually upon completion of AMAP training Why become an AHRC NYC DSP! Paid Training FREE Single & Family Medical Insurance! Responsibilities: Support individuals with disabilities in leading self-directed lives and becoming active members of their communities. The oversight of all safety and health considerations Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) Qualifications Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same. Understanding of Person Centered Planning. Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual. Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies. Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
