Job Description AHRC New York City is seeking Full and Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Adult Day Programs in All Five Boroughs. Full-time Positions Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am -3:30pm (35 hours per week). Pay rate: $18 per hour plus a very generous and comprehensive Benefit packet. In addition, the following Bonuses are available depending on the Programs needs. $2,000 annually upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive Driving class $2,000 annually upon completion of AMAP training Part-Time Positions Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am -2:30pm (30 hours per week). Paid Training Hands on work experience Responsibilities: Support individuals with disabilities in leading self-directed lives and becoming active members of their communities. The oversight of all safety and health considerations Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) Qualifications Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same. Understanding of Person Centered Planning. Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual. Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies. Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English. Direct Support Professionals are responsible for supporting individuals with disabilities to lead self-directed lives and participate actively in their communities. This includes overseeing health and safety considerations and assisting with activities of daily living.
